Reflection on Art Portfolio 1.

Image
To look back on term 1, a blog post from term 1, using the English language I feel the massive progress. Even in my reflection on a work. I see more reasons to make a reflection.  This term I was working on creating branding, using a particular theme. Doing research gave me an understanding of the value of the work of artists from the past. Making the research on Victor Moscoso and Paul Seabass.  Attending the workshops gave me a lot of new knowledge and new skills. 3D workshop, ceramics workshop, digital print workshop. I have more skills and more knowledge about how and what to use for my subject, for graphic design.  Coming back to the Zephyr Project.  I spent 9 weeks to create a brand. I was working on naming, logotype, colours, typography, and composition. I  improved my digital skills, such as using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and YouTube lessons.  Throughout the whole work, I found it hard to keep in mind the theme and follow my plan because of my creativity. I had made

Creating portfolio photos

This term I decided to make photos on my own. I took a camera, booked a photostudio, brought everything with me and started experimenting. According to my teacher advice I bought a black velvet for the background in Magic materials, as I thought I will match to the whole mood of my project. I used studio lights, a table, black background and velvet on the table.  Using a wood stand behind the box I made it stand like that.  I made different variations of photos, with closed box, opened box, with a red velvet "heats" on the top of bottle and without.                Also I wanted to show how bottles look like with a stickers on the top and with no leads.  I made a photo from the inside.  To talk about lights. Using two sources of lights. One is countur lights which was standing on the top left, and the second one low and right. This light scheme gave me the perfect light to show the velvet.  I really love this effect between the background and the table. Because both are black,

Website update

Image
The last term I had a website with mixed fonts, and different colours, which did not match together. This term I was working on improvement on my website. To start from the home page and header.  For the header and the rest of the website I used a gradient, because it looks good, light and do not give to heavy mood. For texts and buttons, I decided to use a background picture which matching with my project and gradient.  Also as an additional direct element I used a button with link to my last project. I made it look very bright and noticeable.  For the main image, I chose a photo of my last project (a picture with a dark top, so I could put text there). While the scroll of the page header stays freezes to give to the user options to press what they want.      For the end of a home page I added my previous project and a button "about me".  Using a button on every page of a gallery.  Also changed a year for 2024.  Move on to the page about me. Using new photo, new photo frame

Mock-ups developing

Image
Using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator I was making a banner mockup, a bag and logotype mockup.  Same technology as in my previous posts, I downdoaded files, opened them in Photoshop, using a smart object square I pressed "Replace your logo here". I did the same with the rest of my work.  There is a lit bit of a process how I did it.  Here I made a brand pattern, using moth.  I did it in Illustrator. Firstly, I pressed "object" and then "create a pattern". After using a rectangle tool I created a pattern on my artboard.  When It comes to the brand pattern, I usualy use a logotype for it, without taglines. I used a romb form. Using the Adobe Illustrator tool "make a pattern" I created a pattern. After I applied to the artboard.  On this stage I was experimenting using different colours and sizes.  For my mockup I downloaded already ready mockup from the " FREEPIK" and opened in photoshop.  Clicking on small square on the bottom of my laye

Mock ups creating

Image
I started from creating a banner. The size is A3. I used a distorted moth to create a pattern. I experimented with a shape ( in my previous post) and that's the first banner. I used "believe in memories" as a sign reminding about my idea (nostalgia). The second banner was created using photoshop (I explained te whole process in my previous posts). The third version of banner, using pattern, name, distorted fonts and a little moth on the right bottom corner.   That is mockup of a business card. The front and the back. I used a red background colour because it will relate to the whole packaging where I also use red colour.  The process of creating and experimenting in Illustrator. In business card, I used the whole explanation of brand idea (which is for example hair products) and contact information. The front side I created using a pattern ( which I use i a banner and labelling). Example of mockup using Adobe Photoshop. First of all I downloaded mockup file, then I opened

Update on labels

Image
According to my analysys, I decided to change a front label from my prevous posts for the next reasons: 1) It was too big, so my idea with the inside moth did not work, it was hard to see the inside moth.; 2) It was too minimalistic, did not really related to POP-ART.  My next idea worked better. To make it relate to POP-ART, I used a dot pattern(which I highlighted in my previous post).  With updated labels, I also realised some mistakes on a label such as "proffesional" and the back label had some words, which did not work good with it, so I changed it.  The process of applying labels to the bottle. I bought a double-sided stichy tape, sticked it to the paper, and took of the film.  This was a trial version how bottles will look like.  Using a professional printer at DMU I managed to print stickers without losing a quality.  I faced some difficulties with printing, and preparing materials for a print. If I do this next time I will double check for a mistales, I will prepar
