Reflection on Art Portfolio 2

Image
In the end of the term and year I had a chance to work on several projects, which include McDonalds, Zephyr and Cromwell. The last two projects required to use Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Figma.      As well as attending workshops, learning from other  artists. Through the last two terms I became more proffesional. I have upgraded myself as a graphic designer. Using various workshops, such as ceramic workshop, plastic, 3D, wood workshop. To move on to my last project, I can cornfirm that I have improved my research skills, technical skills and comunicational skills. For instance, New Cromwell required me to connect with other artists, such as craft design, photography, fine art artists. This opportunity gave me a comunicational progress, I have learnt how to work in a team, how to addapt my work to other artists's work. I have been working with craft design, I have been thinking about systainability, materials, colours (how iT will be applied to RGB and CMYK). I have been w

Creating brand book/website development

Image
On this stage I have created a brand book in Adobe Illustrator, which includes all typography, colours, elements, pattern and brand logo.  Brand pattern Brand typography Brand elements Brand colours Logotype and slogan I have also put changes into my website. I have changed colours of the front page, deleted all unneccesary information.  I experimented with the background, I did not like the previous version of my front page, so now I made it shorter and more specific.

Mockup development

As in the previous term, I used Adove Photoshop to make mockups. Firstly, I downloaded file, opened it in PS. After that I applied my design instead of the existing design.  Here are the results of my work.  I used some vertical and horizontal mockups.

Box development/improvement

Here is the last stage of my box development. Through my laser cut journey, I have laser cutter 15 different pieces of the main city stand. Some of them were broken, because of the wrong settings. Some of them were not good quality, some of them did not have the structure which I wanted to see. Some of them did not have embossery. But after all failed attempts, I managed to create 3 perfect pieces. On the pictures below the whole process of the last session in the workshop. On this stage I tried if the gaps are suitable for thw size of the actual (3) logo. Unfortunately, one of them just stuck in the gap, while I was trying to take if off, it broke.  The piece from white acrylic with gaps is the top of the stand.  Here   I have changed the size of gaps so then it will not brake again. The sketch of the future box. The plan how it should be.  Here is the result of failed attempts. After I cut all pieces, I used spray for cleaning acrylics.  Here is the spray. Antistatic foaming cleaner.

Posters' development 3

Image
As I was advised by my tutor, I have contacted Diana, Ayalina and Edzhe as I wanted to use the name of Edzhe’s school, and drawing from Diana and Ayalina, but they said it is not ready yet. So I was creating my designs without their work. This post shows development of my poster designs.  I decided to use some of the posters from previous week, but some of them needs development. The poster below will be used in the National Trust Park, Museum and Cultural Centre  as an advertising. That is why I used these colours to attract people, who are looking for nature, park, wood, museum etc.  I did not like these posters, as they look too messy, with a lot of information in it (visual noise).  Using background, pattern, circles from my research post, messy lines - all these created a visual noise.  I even tried to clean the poster, but the shape (smooth) did not related to the style of my brand (using sharp and straight lines and shapes).  However, everything needs improvement.
