Graphic Design Journey

The poster from above was my inspiration, I really liked the pattern. So then, I decided to create my own pattern using Pattern tool.  Afetr I drow american robin peak, I blend two pieces together. So It became a blended gradient.  I have tried different techniques. I did not likes that idea, so I have tried more.  Experiments with composition and graient.  In the end, I started liking some designs. This one is really catchy, dynamic and modern. I decided to make posters in the same style.  In my next post I will experiment more with posters.   

To get inspired my modern artists from Behance, I decided to search more of tourist designs.  The first one attracted me because of its composition. I like the negative space, I will apply it into my poster designs, as it really makes a contrast between the picture and information.  Composition if this poster is centred, it tells you straight away about 3 options. I like the contrast between top and middle part. Light text on the dark background looks good and noticeable.    I really liked this poster, when shape is used it fill the whole space inside with pictures.  Large and noticeable text.  This one kind of the same with the previous one because of its composition. But, I don't like the background, it is too loud, and does not let the viewer see the information. To be a good designer means to know not only rules, but the mistakes as well.  I started working on the box for city sign.  I created 5 elements for the box.  The top one will have 3 gaps, so then I will put 3 pieces of a city stand inside.  I am planning to cut these 5 pieces and glue them together.  Measuring my ready outcomes and deciding what size I need. Finally, the laser cut acrylic is 3 mm in weigh. So, the gaps for it will be 4 mm (so than I have a little bit of space inside).  The last pic is the plan how pieces will be cut.  In my next post I will show ready outcome. 

Continue to work on 3D outcome of a city stand, I visited a workshop, and created 3 pieces of acrylic, 3 pieces of logotype, which has an embossery element. I am aiming to create a lights insode of the box (which I will show in my next post).  There are my ready outcomes.  I tried to make the logo with light, middle and high emount of embossery element.  I ended up with a high amount of embossers as it will be more noticeable with the light element underneathe.  I realised that some elements of 3D are quite vulnerable and easy to break. As well as spots from laser cut, which I will correct and remake.  So I laser cut around 10 copies, some of them were broken, some of them were not good quality, some of them I had to change in Adobe Illustrator and make it suitable for laser cutting.  In my next post, I will show the development of a box for lettering. 

On the other day, I was thinking about the design, was getting inspired by the nature and digital design as well.  I looked at posters from the previous post, I found them a bit too many details, not perfect composition, and I did not include brand pattern.  On this stage I have been experimenting with colous again, I incorporated a brand colour scheme (which is in my logo).  Also, I did not like the previous poster because of the messy background, chaotic colours and elements. There were not enough of negative space, which is significant for graphic design.   Then according to my brief I have tried to incorporate slogan into my design.  Also I have tried to use a logo as a background in macro and 10% of capasity.  The second poster, which includes map of Cromwell, and 5 main sightseeing places to go for tourist information.    While designing, I have experimneted with composition, colour and size. Through my research, I have found artists on Behance Alto Valle. I really liked her work. There is the piece I will be talking about. The sequences of three posters. However is it in different language, but I still can read, as a viewer. This is the task of a graphic designer. To make things very obvious and simple, but using different tools. To look at these posters, I can confirm that there is something about food, apples, fish, swan, and birds. Only by that information, we can understand do we like it or no. The second element which I like in this posters is colour. The artist used analogue colours and mixed them in different proportions between posters, so then it is easy to tell its the same style. I will use this aspect in my design when creating 2 posters on the same wall. As well as using images which tells potential target market about this product/service/etc. Important to talk about composition as well.
