Welcome post
Welcome to my blog. We are starting the last term at DMUIC. On the first session of Art Portfolio 2 have been given a project brief for the major project. The name of a project is Cromwell. The story of a city damaged by a big fire. Our task as a architechts, graphic designer, craft designers is to create a new city with new branding, shops, accomodations etc. My part as a graphic designer consists of creating a logo, which might include a bird, whale, flower and a tree; slogan; series of 4 posters to advertise a town for tourists on a information board; mockup of the welcome sign for the town; tourist guide front cover; advertisement for Cultural centre exhibition of Photography (work in collaboration with photography); create a 3D clulpture that incorporates logo for the Town Hall Square. My final portfolio includes concept and presentation of the work listed above.
To achieve better results this term I need to work on my writting skills, to be consistent with my blog and deadlines, as the last term I had a luck of time because of some gaps in my timeline. I want to become more miticulous and pay more attention to the details. According to the type of my personality I need a strict deadlines for myself, so I will create these deadlines and will stick to them as much as I can.
The second factor I would like to improve in my work is collaboration with other people, especially to deal with their points of view which do not match with mine. This is a really important part I would like to improve, to be more social active and to take other people's points of view.
The third aspect I would like to achieve is a quolity of my work. Because of gaps mentioned above the quality of my work suffers. To add more, I want to become a independent designer with a strong background and strong statements. I want to be able to convince people that my work is the best by having a strong knowledge and be sure in quality of my work. To achieve this I need to create a decent pre-projwct analysys, be stick to the idea, be consistent.
Looking back on my Art Portfolio 2 project I want to avoid that mistakes I did which are: being inconsistent, not being productive and not putting effort for 100%.
I am looking forward to see my progress and to see the results of my work. I am looking forward to learn new skills with software, using different workshops such as fine art print. I want to see my progress with being more attentive and use my potential.
I know my problems and I know what to do to decrease their impact on my work. I want to feel proud of my work and be able to stand for it as I had done a massive job but I need to explain why it is worth to be proud of.
