Planing: developing

In previous posts I was deciding which insect I am going to use for my project. The first idea was a beetle.

To be able to draw a beetle in Adobe Illustrator I had to learn how to use different tools, which I did not use in the previous module. Using YouTube videos on the previous week I progressed in my skills using Adobe Illustrator. I learnt how to use 3D tool, how to expand objects, how to make a mask.

On this stage, I have already created a logotype with a beetle. Firtsly I draw a sketch with my hand and after using a Pen tool I draw it digitally.

Unfortunately, all my project was deleted, and I had to draw everything again.

Also, I created a pattern using small beetles inside.

Thats how pattern looks like. With beetles inside ( I udes a round tool to create a circle from beetles).

After that I created different pattern using a few colours, and then combined them together in a shape.

And small beetles inside.

I had 3 options of a beetle.

Using all patterns which I made I created a logotype with Corman name and 60 on the bottom.

UPDATE (6.03)

After a chat with my tutor he suggested to change a beetle to my previous idea - butterfly, because a beetle is not a good logo to use with toiletries.

I was looking on some design sketches like that to choose a shape.

After talking to my tutor, I decided that it is better to try to use something different from a beetle. The moth or butterfly - thats what is better for my target audience and also is more suitable with toiletries products, such as soap, shampoo, conditioner etc.

Using colour markers and fine liner I started creating sketches of future design.

The first drawing - using very smooth lines and oval shapes. I want to use a psychedelic shapes inside in my moth.

I experimented with shapes, structure. On the second drawing I tries to use hetching technique.

Then I experimented with height. The last drawing (4th) I tried to collaborate a medium size, psychedelic shapes and solid shapes inside. On my next post I will show the developing on the last drawing.
