Combination of logotype

To create logotype it is important to mix text and a sign together and make them work at the same vibe.

According to the previous post I chose Griaste Font for a project.

Using an Effect - Wrap tool I want to make it surrealistic.

To talk about naming, I ended up with Zephyr, as my tutor suggested. In the Ukrainian language, Zephyr means marshmallows.

The idea I put in it: as my topic is a surrealism, and marshmallows they melts and they are very viscous, same as a lot of elements in surrealism. Also it relates to my products (Soap, shampoo etc) - as these products will be same gentle to your skin as a marshmallow.

As I made a distortion to my text, to be able to change it I need to expand the object first and ungroup after to be able to change every letter separately.

After that using clipping mask I created a mask for every letter.

I did experimentation with text, font and shapes.

This is my current logo design.

In my next blog post I will show my work on poster design, a ready logotype and planning a box construction.

Update (26.02):

After I created a logotype above, I was working on improvment. I decided to change the font in logotype to Grist Regular, as references for my project from the previous research shows a range of distored psychedelic fonts, I had a look on my Typography Post and chose this one.

I combined this complicated surreal font with simple fonts as Unbounded, because i did not want ot make fonts hard to read. Unbounded and ITC Italic looks really good together, as a pairs.

I think the circle around a logotype is not suitable for my theme. I decided to use a pattern from 60s Pop-Art art, which has a lot of different sized circles.
